The LS4 and LS6 are not only brand new models from Regal Marine, but also represent a brand new series of upscale, luxury-oriented and appointed sporty bowriders complete with brand new model designations.

The LS6, subject of this review, at twenty-six feet, four inches length overall on an eight-foot, six-inch beam, is the larger of the two new models, the LS4 being a twenty-four footer. Observing the LS6 in the water, its smooth, un-obstructive lines and rich looking upholstery and appointments exude a feeling of class and a step above in luxury.

In a break from Regal’s traditional bowrider interior layout, the LS6 features a pair of multi-functional , individually adjustable, multi-position UltraLounges at the transom, each of which hides what Regal refers to as a “fold-away rumble seat” allowing you to sit facing aft with your legs over the transom and feet on the swim platform. Between these two UltraLounges is a centre walk over from the swim platform to the cockpit. Under both of these loungers is a large storage compartment on each side of and separated from the engine and accessible from the swim platform.

This platform is low to the water allowing greater and easier access for all manner of watersports. But be sure to add Regal’s new Power Platform option which electrically operates from a transom-mounted switch a centrally-mounted large swim step from under the swim platform down and out into the water thus providing even greater access to water activities with greater ease and lots more fun.

The cockpit seating configuration is unique too from traditional Regal layouts. A centre walkway stretches the entire length of the LS6 right from the swim platform to the point of the bow, narrowing across the transom and between the driver and passenger helms and widening within the cockpit and bow area. The double-wide adjustable seatback of each transom UltraLounge provides forward-facing seating for two on each side of the stern. A bench seat stretches the full length of each side of the cockpit. Each of these form into a double-wide driver and passenger seat again with adjustable seatbacks to allow both forward-facing seating for the driver and passenger plus rear-facing lounging on both sides.

In the bow, padded backrests with flip-up armrests on the forward face of each helm provide forward-facing lounging. Full surround seating fills the bow area complete with padded backrests. Storage is found beneath all seat cushions plus within the driver’s helm. A portable cooler has dedicated storage under a cockpit seat cushion. An in-floor storage compartment is ideal for all of your watersports accessories and a second in-floor storage compartment has a composite liner with a bottom drain and is intended as an additional cooler or as a temporary spot for wet towels or bathing suits.

A commendably roomy head compartment within the passenger helm features a “Moon Crystal Solid Surface Counter Top” with stainless sink, pumpout head, overhead light, and “Soft Step” flooring. A Garmin 742 high-resolution touchscreen is centred in the hand-wrapped, hand-stitched vinyl covered dash providing both engine readouts and GPS chartplotter navigation. The dash has back-lit blue illumination.

The LS6 rides on Regal’s recognized Fas Trac aerated hull design which it claims gives up to 26 percent faster speeds and 30 percent better fuel economy. The 22-degree deadrise of this very deep-vee hull design should provide a smooth ride when the going gets rough. Regal adds a vinyl ester bottom barrier coat on the hull to provide extra protection. Nine hull and bootstripe colour choices are available in three style choices. Also choose from five canvas colours and five different upholstery colour and texture choices.

Power choices for the LS6 include single Volvo V8 350, 380, or 430 horsepower EVC catalyst engines with Duoprop drives or a 350 horsepower MerCruiser 6.2L DTS with Bravo 3 drive. You may want to optionally add an automatic fire extinguisher, gas vapour detector, trim tabs, second battery, switch, and charger, and transom trim switch.

A large bimini top which covers virtually the entire cockpit is standard. To that you can add bow and cockpit covers plus a travel cover or perhaps choose Regal’s Power Tower in white or black complete with bimini. You may also choose to add Seagrass Mat or SeaDek Mat for the cockpit sole, a stern bench centre filler cushion with backrest, a bow filler cushion, walk-through bow doors, a teak cockpit table, plus Flexiteek or SeaDek for the swim platform.

Other notable options include dual Garmin touchscreens, anchor windlass, docking lights, and blue underwater lights. Of course a Bluetooth compatible Fusion stereo is standard but you may want to upgrade it with the Stereo Performance and Lighting Package which provides blue LED Fusion Signature series lit speakers plus amplifier, subwoofer, transom speakers and remote control.

Regal calls its new LS6 “the ultimate balance of beauty, innovation, and versatility.”
