The Jeanneau 2013 Sun Odyssey 379 is comfortable cruiser with very nice performance. It can make 9 knots and feel comfortable in 16 kt winds, be safe adventure in 30 kt and relax in 10 kt. Its 37 feet is the best size for the Great Lakes, with it’s two rudders it’s super manoeuvrable in tight marinas. With it’s furl-in-mast main sail it is well designed to be single-handed.
Jeanneau boats are the luxury made to last and this one after eleven years of short Canadian seasons and loving care is in excellent condition. This boat was never chartered or sailed in blue water.
While most of the navigation instruments are original, Chart Plotter and Autopilot Computer were upgraded in 2020 to B&G Zues 3 9” and B&G NAC-3 (Great Lakes maps are included). House bank was upgraded to 4 batteries in 2020, which allows to stay on anchorage for 3 days without recharge. Besides standard Main sail and Jib package Gennaker (with sock) was added in 2021. Dodger Lexan windows were replaced in 2021.
It has twin wheels with full back support for comfortable seating while under way and 3’ wide swim platform for convenient access when you are on anchor. Galley, besides propane stove and fridge with freezer, has microwave.
SO 379 can house comfortably 8 people overnight and up to 12 for a day sailing.
Yanmar diesel engine was serviced annually, as well as exterior waxing and antifouling painting. Holding Tank was removed and cleaned, tubing replaced in 2019.
