Boat Review by: Richard Crowder
Last year, Lund introduced the aluminum 1875 Pro-V Bass boat. This year, Lund has expanded this series with the introduction of this 2075 Pro-V Bass. This new model is available in two side console versions: this Pro-V Bass with three-across seating, and the 2075 Pro-V Bass XS with two-across ProRide adjustable pedestal seating behind which are a pair of flip-up seats within a larger cockpit. Other than the seating differences, both boats are essentially identical.
Builder of both fibreglass and aluminum boats, Lund has four main categories from which to choose: Core Fishing, Fish and Sport, Utility and Hunting, and Pontoon boats. The Pro-V Bass series models form part of the eleven series of many, many models and sizes within the Core Fishing category. And there is no doubt that this 2075 Pro-V Bass boat is intended for hard-core fishing and even tournament work.
Aside from a cockpit just large enough to accommodate the two high-back and centre low back seats with fold-down seatbacks and the helm instrument and control console, the rest of the boat fore and aft is all flat, level, carpeted casting deck with the only obstructions being the very slightly raised bow trolling motor platform and the Mercury outboard at the stern. Everything within these two huge casting decks is designed and outfitted to assist and facilitate the task at hand – fishing.
The no nonsense molded fibreglass starboard side helm console with tinted windscreen located roughly mid-ship features standard tilt steering plus Mercury analog gauges in a horseshoe shape leaving the centre of the gauge cluster available for your favourite choice of flush-mounted navigation/fish finder screen. You can also choose the factory option Lowrance HDS 7 touchscreen. The standard Mercury gauges may be upgraded to Merc SmartCraft gauges. An identical and removable port side console is optionally available with a molded-in locking glove box.
Centred ahead of the middle seat and extending beneath the floor of the bow casting deck is a huge locking rod storage compartment outfitted with fifteen tubes capable of storing rods up to nine feet in length. Within this bow casting deck and immediately ahead of the driver’s console is an insulated cooler compartment while the balance of this casting deck is devoted to four covered storage compartments with carpeted lids matching the deck flooring and with what Lund refers to as, “advanced water controlled door frames.”
The fully carpeted stern casting deck is not quite as large as the bow but is perhaps even more functional. Centred immediately aft of the middle seat is a three section pop-up tackle storage drawer with nine trays. Aft of that is an aerated, recirculating 28-gallon livewell with pumpout, autotimer, and lighting. Filling the balance of space within the stern casting deck are four more storage compartments. On the transom is a concealed, flush-mounted, three step telescoping stainless steel boarding ladder. More storage is found beneath all three cockpit seats.
Lund’s Sport Trak coaming accessory mounting system complete with two Sport Trak accessory brackets come standard to allow you to add a myriad of available Sport Trak accessory aids or simply choose the handy Sport Trak Accessory Package option. Notable additional standard equipment with the 2075 Pro-V Bass includes flip-down cleats, bow trim switch, interior LED lighting, a removable butt seat with adjustable pedestal, and a single axle swing-tongue black painted Shoreland’r bunk trailer with brakes and tongue jack.
Lund offers to pre-rig your boat with a Mercury outboard with 200, 225, or 250 horsepower or to pre-rig it for a Honda outboard without supplying the motor. Lund claims 61 mph with the 250 horsepower motor. You may choose from almost a dozen Minnkota or from two MotorGuide bow-mounted trolling motors. You may choose to upgrade your DC electrical system to 36 volts to accommodate your choice. In addition, you can add a bow-mounted Humminbird Helix 5 or 7 or a Lowrance HDS 7.
You have three choices of Raised hull graphics and canvas choices including a bimini top and a travel cover. There is a regular and premium stereo choice, ski-pole upgrade, two, three, and four-bank battery chargers, snap-in floor mat, livewell upgrades, plus trailer upgrades. Lund calls this 2075 Pro-V Bass boat its, “most versatile bass and muskie aluminum fishing boat yet.”
